AKRADA CampusIntel ("AKRADA", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
By using AKRADA (akrada.com and all related pages and services), you agree to this policy.
1. Who We Are
AKRADA CampusIntel is a student super app for Nigerian university students, founded by Muhammad Okami Enoch Nalado. Contact: [email protected].
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account data: email address, full name, school/university, department, phone number
- Optional profile data: profile photo, bio, courses you teach (for tutors)
- Payment data: processed by Paystack (we do not store your card details)
- Emergency contact data: phone numbers of contacts you add for the emergency alarm feature
- Content you upload: past questions, courses, ebooks, tutorial listings, anonymous posts
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Location data: only when you use the map, beacon, or emergency alarm features — with your permission
- Device and usage data: browser type, device type, pages visited, actions taken
- Analytics events: via our own tracking (we do not use third-party ad trackers)
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide the app — navigation, courses, tutorials, POS-related services, safety features
- To process payments and payouts via Paystack
- To display tutor listings, courses, and tutorials to students
- To operate affiliate and partner programs
- To respond to your support requests
- To prevent fraud and abuse
- To send essential notifications (payment confirmation, tutor approval, subscription expiry)
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
4. Who We Share Data With
- Paystack — payment processing (Paystack's own privacy policy applies)
- Supabase — secure database and file storage (EU/US data centers)
- Vercel — website hosting
- Mapbox — map rendering
- Law enforcement — only when legally required, or in genuine emergency alarm situations where someone's safety is at risk
We share with these providers strictly to operate AKRADA. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own marketing.
5. Location Data
Location access is optional. We only access your location when you actively use:
- The map (to show your position and directions)
- The Beacon feature (to share location with chosen friends)
- The Emergency Alarm (to send your location to your contacts and to campus alerts)
You can revoke location permission anytime in your phone settings.
6. Data Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except:
- Transaction records required for tax and Paystack reconciliation (kept up to 7 years)
- Emergency alarm logs (kept for safety and legal purposes)
- Anonymized analytics (no personal identifiers)
7. Your Rights (NDPA 2023)
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Object to certain processing
- Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)

8. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser local storage to keep you logged in, remember your school, and store your referral code. We do not use advertising cookies.
9. Security
We use HTTPS, Supabase Row-Level Security, and secure payment processing via Paystack. However, no system is 100% secure. Use a strong, unique password.
10. Children
AKRADA is intended for users 16 years and older. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use AKRADA.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app and via the Updates page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
